Max Unger began his career in the world of football when he played football for Hawaii Preparatory Academy, and was named a 2002 second-team all-state offensive honoree. In college, he played for University of Oregon’s Oregon Ducks as Unger twice named all-Pac-10 first team, second team all-Pac-10 and honorable mention.

He was selected for Seattle Seahawks during the second round of 2009 NFL Draft and signed a four-year contract. Unger played too the center post for the team. His contract was extended in 2012.
