American footballer, Devon Wylie has died. He died in November 2023, at the age of 35. The actual cause of his death is unknown.
Moving on to California State University, Fresno, Wylie continued to make a name for himself from 2007 to 2011. His college career was marked by impressive stats, with 98 receptions for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns. These accomplishments caught the attention of the NFL scouts, leading to his selection by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Kansas City Chiefs:
Wearing the number 19 jersey, Wylie made the final roster for the Chiefs in 2012. Despite playing in only six regular-season games, he showcased his skills with six receptions for 53 yards. Additionally, Wylie contributed as a kickoff and punt returner. Unfortunately, his time with the Chiefs came to an end when he was released on September 1, 2013, just before the 2013 regular season.
NFL Journey:
Devon Wylie’s NFL journey continued with stints at various teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons. His resilience and dedication to the sport were evident as he navigated through different practice squads and active rosters.
Canadian Football League (CFL):
In a bold move, Wylie ventured into the Canadian Football League (CFL) by signing with the Toronto Argonauts on April 21, 2016. While donning the CFL colors, he continued to bring his skills to the field. However, his time with the Argonauts came to a close when he was released on August 1, 2017.
