New York rapper Lil TJay is now undergoing medical care after being shot early on Wednesday morning in New Jersey during an attempted robbery.
Lil Tjay, an XXL Freshman for 2020, became well-known in 2019 as a result of his “No Comparison” album from December 2018. He then released hit singles including “Zoo York,” “FN,” and the albums True to Myself and Destined 2 Win in 2019 and 2021, respectively. He recently launched the tracks “In My Head” and “Goin’ Up” and has been working on the follow-up to his project Strictly4MyFans.
At a shopping Promenade in Edgewater, the rapper was shot multiple times. Just after midnight, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office reported, police were called in response to reports of gunfire at the scene. They arrived to find Lil TJay, real name Tione Marriot, age 21, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. Likewise, authorities reported that Antoine Boyd, 22, was also discovered with a single gunshot wound.
In connection with Lil Tjay’s shooting three males have now been arrested, one of whom police think was the assailant. According to police, a robbery attempt allegedly targeted the rapper.

Mohamed Konate, 27, has been arrested and is being held as the main suspect in Tjay’s shooting, as per a statement issued by the Bergen County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday evening (June 22). Three counts of attempted homicide, three counts of armed robbery, and several more charges involving illegal firearms have been brought against Konate. Moreover, a mugshot of the rapper’s alleged shooter has surfaced.
At the time of the shooting, Tjay and his two associates, Jeffery Valdez and Antoine Boyd were supposedly at Edgewater, New Jersey’s The Promenade. Konate’s extradition to New Jersey is currently awaiting after detectives detain him from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the New York City Police Department.
As reported earlier, two people were shot in the affluent New Jersey neighborhood soon after midnight, one of whom was 22-year-old Lil Tjay’s companion.
Moreover, while the investigation was ongoing, police reported that they had each charged Jeffery Valdez and Antoine Boyd with possessing an illegal weapon. At an undetermined time, Valdez and Boyd will make their initial court appearance at the Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, New Jersey. They have been held in custody at the Bergen County Jail.

During the purportedly failed robbery attempt, Lil TJay was shot multiple times.
He was then taken to a hospital in the region to receive treatment. However, TMZ stated that Lil TJay required emergency surgery. Officials did not disclose his health status.
